I'm a documentary filmmaker, cinematographer, and editor originally from Cape Cod, Massachusetts, now calling Vancouver, BC home.
I've always been drawn to people and their stories, especially the ones that don't always get told. A lot of my independent documentary work, including Be Like Betty, Skin Swimmer, and Lobster Queen (where I was DP), and WOMP, has focused on people who are carving out their own space in the world. I'm particularly passionate about sharing the stories of those who are often underrepresented in action sports and outdoor communities. I love stories that challenge what we think an athlete looks like, what adventure means, or who gets to be part of it.
Outside of independent films, I've worked on commercial and branded projects with Flyover Attractions, Destination Canada, and Sierra Nevada, to name a few. My most recent work with Destination Canada, screened across the country at all official fan FIFA zones.
I'm also a competitive bodysurfer, former collegiate swimmer, and someone who hopes to one day develop gills. Shooting in the water is one of my favourite things to do, and combining my love of the ocean with filmmaking is something I'll always be pursuing.
And then there are weddings! They're full of real people, big feelings, tender little moments, and stories you couldn't script if you tried. There's something so special about getting to capture all of that for someone with a documentary approach, while mixing Super8 film to give a nostalgic feel.
I guess what it all comes down to is that I just really love telling stories. Whether it's an athlete, an artist, a couple getting married, or someone with a life story that deserves to be heard, I'm happiest when I'm connecting with people, getting curious about their world, and figuring out how to encapsulate that for audiences forever.
