Carve Designs
Director & Cinematographer | Branded Documentary Series What does it mean to raise the next generation to love and protect the natural world? Mothers, Purpose + The Future explores this question through the lives of four extraordinary women who are redefining motherhood through their connection to nature, adventure, and environmental stewardship. Created in partnership with Carve Designs, a women-founded outdoor lifestyle brand, this documentary project follows four mothers across North America, from the surf breaks of Mexico and Southern California to the mountains of Montana and the beaches of Florida. Though their lives and environments differ, they share a common purpose: raising their children with a deep appreciation for the outdoors and an understanding of their responsibility to protect it. I worked as the director and cinematographer on this project, helping bring these women's stories to life through intimate interviews, observational filmmaking, and cinematic imagery. The goal was to create something that felt authentic to each woman's experience while weaving their individual perspectives into a larger conversation about motherhood, sustainability, and the future of our planet. The project became part of Carve Designs' Women x Good sustainability initiative, demonstrating how documentary storytelling can communicate a brand's values while putting real people and their experiences at the centre of the narrative. Following its premiere in Mill Valley, California, in May 2022, the film went on to screen at festivals across the United States, including the Montauk Film Festival, Surf City Festival, Surfalorus Film Festival, Equinox Mountain Film Festival, and Imagine This Women's Film Festival. It was also named second runner-up for Best Short Film at the Surf City Festival and screened on television during the Vans US Open of Surfing.
