The Bodhi Wave
Feature Documentary In-Water Cinematographer, Drone Pilot & Production Assistant Director: Jazeen Hollings | Costa Rica WATCH HERE - https://vimeo.com/431088584 Can surfing, yoga, and a connection to nature inspire people to make a positive change in the world? The Bodhi Wave, directed by Jazeen Hollings, explores this question through the story of Bodhi Surf + Yoga, a small surf camp in Bahia Ballena, Costa Rica, and the first certified B Corporation surf and yoga camp in the world. The documentary follows four individuals who are using their passion for the ocean, sustainability, and responsible tourism to challenge the way we think about business and our relationship with the planet. This was an early project in my filmmaking career and a great opportunity to combine my love for the ocean with documentary storytelling. As a competitive bodysurfer and former collegiate swimmer, being in the water with a camera has always felt natural to me. I love the challenge of shooting surf from the water, working with the waves and changing conditions to capture perspectives you simply can't get from shore. What drew me to this project was its focus on people using their passions to make a difference. It's a theme that has continued to shape the stories I gravitate toward as a filmmaker, particularly those connected to the ocean, outdoor adventure, and environmental conservation. Released in 2020, The Bodhi Wave is a 51-minute documentary that continues to be used as an educational resource, encouraging conversations around sustainability, responsible business, and environmental stewardship.
