Flyover - Canadian Rockies
Director & Editor | Four-Part Behind-the-Scenes Documentary Series What does it take to capture some of the most remote and breathtaking landscapes in the Canadian Rockies? Windborne: Call of the Canadian Rockies is an immersive flying theatre experience that takes audiences soaring over towering peaks, glaciers, and alpine lakes, while celebrating the people, cultures, and extraordinary adventures that make this region so special. Created by Flyover in collaboration with Sherpas Cinema, Windborne was an ambitious production filmed across the rugged landscapes of the Canadian Rockies. From world-class athletes pushing their limits in extreme mountain environments to the Indigenous knowledge keepers sharing their deep cultural connection to the land, the production brought together an incredible team of filmmakers, adventurers, and storytellers. I had the opportunity to direct and edit a four-part behind-the-scenes documentary series exploring the making of Windborne. The series offers audiences a closer look at the people, creative vision, and immense logistical challenges involved in bringing such an ambitious experience to life. My goal was to take viewers beyond the breathtaking imagery of the finished attraction and into the stories unfolding behind the camera. Through interviews, production footage, and an observational documentary approach, the series explores the collaboration, problem-solving, and dedication required to capture the Canadian Rockies in a way audiences had never experienced before. Windborne premiered at FlyOver Canada in Vancouver in July 2022 and has since been showcased internationally at FlyOver locations, introducing audiences around the world to the landscapes and stories of the Canadian Rockies.
